Hey, there, brainiac. Happy Friday. Here’s some good stuff I read (and watched and listened to) for you. #1 - A sad list of the 30 most dangerous tech companies, in case you were looking to feel depressed (and paranoid). #2 - And some good news from the Midwest to perk you back up again. A man returns $43,000 he found in his ReStore sofa (I’m not even sure my mom would do that), and Indiana’s oldest state worker is retiring … at 102. #3 - A podcast episode about living an examined life. Hope you like ‘em. —Amber (head reader at BibliOBSESSED)

The Evil List
Which tech companies are really doing the most harm? Here are the 30 most dangerous, ranked by the people who know. In their words, “Maybe it was fake news, Russian trolls, and Cambridge Analytica. Or Travis Kalanick’s conniption in an Uber. Or the unmasking of Theranos. Or all those Twitter Nazis and racist Google results and conspiracy theories on YouTube.” Either way, it’s a quick way to feel depressed (and paranoid).

Michigan man finds $43K in donated couch. Returns cash to previous owner.
“Howard Kirby said the ottoman felt hard and when it was opened he found a box containing thousands of dollars in cash. Howard Kirby bought the couch and other furniture at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Owosso, about 90 miles northwest of Detroit, for $70.” And then he found $43,000. And returned it. What a guy.

Indiana's Oldest State Worker Is Retiring At 102: 'I've Been A Pretty Lucky Guy'
“Everyone retires someday. It’s a fact of life—one that folks usually come to terms with in their mid- to late 60s. Unless, of course, you’re running for president. Or Clint Eastwood.” Or this guy.
